2024 Pink Hill Christmas Parade & Miss Merry Christmas Contest

12/1/2024

The Christmas season will soon be here & nothing kicks it off quite like a parade! This year's PINK HILL PARADE will follow tradition, being held on the first Sunday in December (1st) at 2pm. If you're interested in entering a float, band, classic car, horse, etc, please contact Town Hall to apply for a line-up number & instructions for the day. There is a $35 entry fee for advertising businesses & all other entries are at no charge. Payment should be made to the Town of Pink Hill at the time of entry. Please contact Town Hall at (252) 568-3181 M-F from 8-4 with any questions.

And once again, the Town of Pink Hill will be hosting the MISS MERRY CHRISTMAS contest: a sixty-year tradition fostering a sense of community service in our local young ladies & also a longstanding tradition in which their mothers & grandmothers may have been a part of in years past. Each year, area businesses sponsor young ladies enrolled in the 9th-11th grade of one of our area high schools who live in Pink Hill or one of our surrounding communities & enjoy being involved in their Community. They participate in a short, informal "get-to-know-you" interview process the Saturday before the parade & then ride in the parade on Sunday. Immediately following the Parade, Miss Merry Christmas 2024 will be crowned. The newly crowned Queen will then have one year to complete a community service project of her choice & may also be asked to participate in any & all Pink Hill festivities the following year, before crowning the new Miss Merry Christmas. There are 12 spots available & the sponsor fee is $35. We may be able to pair you with a local business if interested but don't have a business to sponsor you. Applications are available at Pink Hill Town Hall & are due with sponsor's payment by November 15th along with a wallet sized photo of applicant that will appear on the Neuse News website. Once the application process is complete, each young lady will be contacted with further instructions for the contest. Please contact Suzie Baker at (252) 560-7812 or Phyllis Burd at (252) 526-7315 if you have any questions.
